We could not find a date in this volume but other dealers on Ebay and Abe are saying it is from 1913. It is an original and not a facsimile, weighing 4 Lb. The book is written in English and is a satirical novel concerned with the lives of Becky Sharp and Amelia Sedley during the Napoleonic Wars. This novel was the inspiration behind the title of the British lifestyle magazine, which was first published in 1868 and was known for its caricatures of famous people of Victorian and Edwardian society. The book measures 11"x 9" x 1 3/4" with 483 pages. It weighs a little over 4lbs. The cover and spine are gilt decorated and it has illustrated endpapers. Very good condition for its age. Small amount of separation from the spine on the top. Corners of the boards are dinged from shelf wear. There is a small tear on one of the front pages. Small amount of soiling on the back cover.
