Description

Presented is a fabulous Whiting sterling silver serving spoon. This piece is made in the beautiful Arabesque pattern, which began production in 1875. This is an ornate pattern featuring a design of a dragon or other stylized mythical beast, surrounded by fanciful scrollwork decoration. The bowl of the spoon has a matte finish with intricate bright-cut engraved designs, all inside a fluted border. The handle of the server has a monogram of W in Gothic script. This piece is in great condition. The details of the pattern are nice and crisp. There are no splits, no breaks, no dents, no monogram removals, and no repairs. This piece is stamped with the Whiting maker's mark as well as sterling and a retail mark for Wattles & Sheafer. The server is about 9 1/8 inches long.
