Set of 5 Sterling Silver and Wood Franklin Porter Spoons Presented is a nice set of 5 sterling silver demitasse spoons with carved wood handles on the ends. The spoons were made by the arts and crafts silversmith Franklin Porter of Danvers MA in the 1920s. The handles are made from a fine quality close-grained hardwood. The spoons have elegant rat-tail construction. Each spoon is marked on the reverse with sterling and the Franklin Porter hallmark. The condition is excellent. On one spoon there is a slight split to the handle as can be seen in the photos, and the joint is stable and structurally solid. There are no dents, no other splits, no breaks, no cracks, no monograms, no monogram removals and no repairs. The spoons are 4 1/2 inches long. The weight is 47.7 grams or 1.7 ounces.
