Presented is a fabulous set of 11 Whiting sterling silver teaspoons. This set is done in the beautiful Arabesque pattern, which began production in 1875. This is an ornate pattern with elegant scrollwork and florettes on the handles, surrounding a design of a stylized dragon or griffin. The creature is bracing an oval cartouche, monogrammed MMW. This set is in great condition. The details of the pattern are nice and crisp. There are no splits, no breaks, no dents, no monogram removals, and no repairs. Each spoon is stamped with the Whiting maker's mark as well as sterling and the patent date of 1875. There is also a retail mark for H. Richardson & Co. Each spoon is about5 7/8 inches long.
