Description

Presented is a fine quality, heavy weight sterling silver platter spoon or stuffing spoon made by Galt & Davis or Galt Brothers. The handle has a small border of swirls or curly cues around the edges. The spoon has a ball knob or foot rest on the back of the handle. This is a nice feature which prevents the spoon from falling into a large roasting pan or bowl. The end of the handle is monogrammed with AHS in an elegant script. The back of the handle is engraved with the date 1896. This piece obviously dates to 1896 or perhaps a few years earlier. The spoon is marked on the reverse with a maker’s mark for Galt & Davis, Sterling, and Patent 91. The condition is excellent. There are no dents, no splits, no breaks, and no repairs.
