Description

Presented is an antique, English sterling silver serving spoon made in London in 1802. This early 19th century, Georgian piece is done in a classic form. The handle is deeply hand chased with scrolls over a stippled texture. The bowl has a gold wash and is hand chased with detailed fruits and leaves. This piece has never been monogrammed. The back of the spoon is marked with the crowned leopard’s head for the city of London, the lion passant for sterling silver purity, a duty mark of the king’s head, a date letter G for the year 1802 and a maker’s mark. This piece is in great condition for its age and the designs are crisp. There are a couple of tiny, pin-point holes to the raised grape decorations in the bowl. Length: 8 3/4 inches. Weight: 56 grams. Powered by SixBit's eCommerce Solution
