Description
Presented is a set of 4 antique, English sterling silver soup or serving spoons made by Frederick Elkington of London in 1880. The heavy, solid sterling silver spoons have a deep gold wash. Each handle is very decorative and is hand etched with designs. The spoons have never been monogrammed. These spoons are copies of English spoons from the 1400s or 1500s. The bowl of each spoon is marked with the leopard's head for the city of London, the lion passant for sterling silver, the duty mark of Queen Victoria's head, a date letter E for the year 1880 and a maker's mark for Frederick Elkington. This set is in excellent overall condition for its age. There is very minor wear to the gilding on the back of two bowls, and on the back of one handle. In the second photo the handles look quite different. They are the same, it is just how the light is reflecting on the surface. There are no other flaws and no repairs. Length: 7 inches. Weight: 200 grams or 7.1 ounces. Powered by SixBit's eCommerce Solution
