Offered in this sale is a fine set of Imperial Russian silver demitasse spoons made during the late 19th century. Each with a spiral motif graduated handle, and with traditional pan-Slavic / Russian geometric and floral engraved decoration on the back of the bowls. Each spoon bears the Cyrillic maker's mark of ÈÀ (IA), which is probably the mark of Ivan Alekseevich Alekseev. The assay mark is dated 1875 with the Moscow assayer's mark above, the Cyrillic letters ÂÑ for Viktor Savinkov. Marks: Each spoon stamped on the side of the handle with the following: Maker's mark (see above), assayer's mark above the year 1875, 84 zolotny silver standard mark (for 875 purity silver) and St George & Dragon Moscow mark.
